We needed a scale for the chickens. All their fluff easily conceals weight loss. Mrs. Pickles was under 3 lbs when she first saw the vet. She felt lighter, but knowing exactly how much weight she’d lost was important.
I searched for a small animal scale and found a spoon scale. It was advertised as a scale for dosing fish in an aquarium, but my first thought was how helpful it would be for drug dealers. Unfortunately for them, the scale measures in grams and not 8-balls or an interpretation of the weight of a gram.
Thinking this was funny, I sent the link to my husband. Thinking this was the type of scale I wanted for the chickens, my husband bought it. We had a good laugh when it arrived and have now ordered the right type of scale.
