The note states she died in Ohio after a backbone fracture caused by a hawk. Her description states she was a buff golden, so maybe she was a buff orpington. I’ve named her Margaret and can’t wait for my step daughter to get back from her mother so we can put Margaret back together!
Ryan says she’ll be less to worry about because she won’t get bumblefoot or worms, both of which most of ours probably have. We are treating them for worms at home, but I’ve decided the pododermatitis requires an office visit. The clinic at Texas A&M is only charging us for one office visit and asked that I bring two or three to represent the flock, so we’ll be making the trip on Tuesday.
